TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?
I’m a born Artist! I love drawing as a kid and grew with it. I knew I had the talent as I could actually draw anything I see (still life drawing).
HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT?
I was passionate about art from a young age and began tattooing at age 12 using natural substances and charcoal. After years of practice, I became a pro tattoo artist in 2020 & I’m now thriving with the help of mentors.
WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORKS?
The beauty I create as i do my jobs and the actual turn out are always mind blowing to me.
HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR ART MAKES YOUR CLIENTS FEEL?
Most of my clients are overwhelmed with my art & always commend me.
WHAT ARE YOUR CHALLENGES AS A CREATIVE?
Learning new skills and mastering it. But since I’m talented, it becomes easy to learn and master new skills.
MOST MEMORABLE TATTOO YOU’VE DONE?
The tattoos i did when i started! Not that the jobs are very impressive when I started but, when i look back at them now i feel the growth and it makes me smile.
HOW DOES YOUR SOCIETY AFFECT YOUR INDUSTRY?
Well, tattooing in Nigeria is evolving greatly and I thank God for that. When I started my craft in 2015 it was crazy. Most people didn’t like tattoos in the past; they saw it as evil and it’s condemned by the elderly but we’ve made progress.
DO YOU FEEL THERE’S A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE IN THE ART INDUSTRY?
Yes, tattoos and art in general is rated and given good recognitions in Nigeria unlike in the past. I’m happy for where the craft is going and we hope for a better future as projected.
MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING AN ARTIST?
Well, millions of people in the world can’t actually do art and find an artist so amazing is a good turn on for me as an artist. I mean when the accolades and flowers are being given to me as an artist doing great jobs. It’s my biggest motivation and inspiration and reward.
TIPS FOR SOMEONE CONSIDERING TO GET THEIR FIRST TATTOO?
Make your sample search well & be sure you want that particular art and the exact position it should be before going to your artist.
