TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
I was born in Lagos, Nigeria. Moved to East London, and finally landed in Chicago, IL.

HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT?
I was attempting to manage an artist and get my feet wet in the industry, but discovered I had a finesse for lyricism. Music has always been a part of my life.
DO YOU HAVE A MENTOR, IF SO WHO?
I don’t have a mentor, but I do have artists such as Fela & Lil Wayne who I’ve studied musically and look up to.

WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORKS?
Life experiences inspire each body of work I create. I take what I’ve been through and translate them into art.
IN YOUR OWN WORDS DESCRIBE YOUR KINDA CONTENTS?
ART. Is my content. I stopped categorizing myself and just focus on what feels good.

PERSONALLY WHICH ASPECT IS DEMANDING; STARTING OR FINISHING A PROJECT?
For me, finishing a project is more demanding. Writing comes naturally to me so picking up a pen is never an issue. As a perfectionist, knowing when to wrap up a project is the hardest part because the question will always be, is it ever really finished?
HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY?
Currently the state of the world isn’t allowing me to project how I normally would. The state of the world is in disarray & so it affects the mood of my music. No one wants focus on the negative but the aura all around us isn’t the most pleasant.
DO YOU FEEL THERE’S A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE IN THE ART INDUSTRY?
Chicago is a place where you aren’t loved until you come up & sometimes you’re not loved even when you do. But I focus on those who support me & my music in & out of the industry.

WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING AN ARTIST?
Knowing that my supporters truly love my music & understand my message.
ONE THING YOU HOPE TO IMPROVE ON IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
Changing the dynamic between artists and record labels. Giving artists more control over their craft through partnerships. To work with them, not for them.
