TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
My name is Michael, ancestors’ name is Coker. I’m a sucker for anything that involves the creative use of the brain, so I enjoy situations or humans that make me say “Arrrrgh! Nice, that’s dope” or anything similar.

HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT?
I won’t say I’ve been drawing or editing from the womb (lol). Discovered my craft surfing the internet especially Pinterest and Behance.
DO YOU HAVE A MENTOR, IF SO WHO?
I’ve got a ton of them. Erik Johansson, Adrian Sommeling, Aaron Nace, Mike Campau, Niyi Okeowo, Steve Dubs, Fabio Araujo, Johnson Tsang, Hossein Diba et al.

WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORKS?
Hmmm! (It’s nothing deep) I get inspired by a plethora of thing from other people’s photo edits (you need to know how to steal like an artist) and different art scenarios.
IN YOUR OWN WORDS DESCRIBE YOUR KINDA CONTENTS?
My contents are sometimes contextual, a tad of humor (Not every time though), surrealism, and usually an exaggeration.

PERSONALLY WHICH ASPECT IS DEMANDING; STARTING OR FINISHING A PROJECT?
For me, it’s all a process and the process is usually very demanding. Hence, I can’t decide which is.
HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY?
Well electricity which is a big wahala, and can make work very tiresome. There’s also lifestyle and culture which has an interesting narrative so it’s like a trove of inspirations and ideas waiting to be tapped.

DO YOU FEEL THERE’S A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE IN THE ART INDUSTRY?
Well I’ll say there’s appreciation for the art industry especially if the pieces created or art style is somewhat not ubiquitous or tells a story people can relate to.
WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING AN ARTIST?
Someone depositing money in your account (lol) but seriously seeing people connect or even give interpretation to your own work (And you be like “Oh really? I was not even thinking of that”)
ONE THING YOU HOPE TO IMPROVE ON IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
That’ll be increased level of craftsmanship.
