I’m Dunnie, a Music producer, songwriter, singer and multi instrumentalist

HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT?

I discovered singing in secondary school, I joined the choir, played drums for a bit in the choir, I got bored and later learned to play the guitar. As time went by I got interested in music production, so I learnt how to play the piano.

DO YOU SPECIALIZE OR DIVERSIFY IN YOUR FIELD?

I diversify,  as I am a producer, songwriter and singer all in one.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TOOLS, PLATFORMS OR PERSONALTIES?

My digital Audio work station called STUDIO ONE and my midi piano are my favourite tools.

HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY?

The Nigerian society is quite scattered, and it sometimes shows in the industry. On the brighter side ,The Nigerian spirit is that of survival no matter what…this also reflects in the industry as we have been able to survive and thrive regardless of the challenges we face.

DO YOU FEEL THERE’S A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE BETWEEN PRODUCERS?

In my Experience, YES.

WHAT’S THE MOST CLICHE THING YOU COME ACROSS IN YOUR FIELD?

People being surprised that the Quality of my job is Great because I’m female

WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING A PRODUCER?

As a producer in Lagos, being able to work anywhere even on the go is bliss. But most importantly being able to create ideas and share with the world is quite gratifying.

ONE THING YOU HOPE TO IMPROVE?

I will contribute my quota in empowering more women in the industry. And also help with the building of our growing structure.
