HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT?
I used to play football in my secondary school and I was well known, I worried I might not be successful unless I travelled out. After my secondary, I started training with rollerblades then I bought a unicycle and challenged myself to be famous with it.
DESCRIBE UNICYCLING & WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
Unicycle is a one wheel bike to convey from one place to another. It’s well common in Western Europe as a sport and for entertainment. What inspires me is to improve my skills so I can finance our dreams.
DO YOU HAVE A MENTOR?
No, I only respect a man that started before (SP)
MENTION ANY MEMORABLE ONE?
I rode to GTB in gbagada. I met a man who said he saw a white man riding it in Germany & now he can see me his black brother doing it too. He said that is not a jazz & there’s nothing I couldn’t achieve.
HOW DOES YOUR SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY?
When I started it was difficult for parents to leave their kids with me because they didn’t understand it then. Now it has really helped lot of kids mentally & physically by letting them perform in great events aired on TV.
IS THERE A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE IN YOUR FIELD?
No because it isn’t popular here compare to Europe. Hopefully with time we’ll get there. I really want our tricks to be endorsed & famous. Entertainment isn’t just dance music and comedy.
MOST CLICHE THING YOU’VE COME ACROSS IN YOUR FIELD?
My former neighbor once told my friend to tell me he liked me cause I’m passionate but I should find another job because no one has ever made a living through this sport.
MOST REWARDING PART OF WHAT YOU DO?
Named Africa unicycle president & wining Lagos Best Talent 2018 under Governor Ambode regime. It means we can win America’s Got Talent.
ONE THING YOU HOPE TO IMPROVE ON?
I’ll love to get a property to build our own academy for better trainings. Hopefully we meet sponsors through platforms like this.
