TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
I am a DJ & Visual artist of Syrian descent and Nigerian by birth, from Jos, Nigeria (Sy-gerian).
HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT?

DO YOU HAVE A MENTOR?
I have many artists and public figures that I look up to, but none that I would consider mentors.
FAVORITE TRACKS CURRENTLY?
I focus more on movements in music than singular tracks, I guess my favorite movement is the Minimal Techno/Micro House scene in Romania.

MENTION YOUR TOP THREE FAVORITE KINDA EVENTS?
Any event with underground electronic music would be on this list, but here in Nigeria my favorite events are HouseHouseHouse (house music party in Abuja), Ekolektro (Techno festival style party in Lagos) and Bush Bar Sessions which is my Techno/house event here in Abuja.
HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY?
It has everything to do with it! Underground house and techno music is all about the community!

DO YOU FEEL THERE’S A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE BETWEEN DJS?
Yes, there are good relationships being forged, at least between DJs who play House & Techno in Abuja and Lagos. I’m excited to see how this scene will grow!
MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING A DJ?
Dance is a physical manifestation of happiness, so making people dance is really one of the best feelings in the world because it feels like in that moment, you are giving them happiness!

MOST ANNOYING THING YOU COME ACROSS IN YOUR FIELD?
It would be (at least here in Nigeria) the lack of importance given to sound quality by many event organizers. In house and Techno music, the quality of sound equipment and set up is an important pre requisite.

ONE THING YOU HOPE TO IMPROVE ON IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
I think awareness of the music and culture is important to build here in Nigeria, so I hope to grow the scene and get more Nigerians into real house and techno…not the watered down commercial stuff that many Nigerians currently think is
