I’m Kachi aka Masterpiece. I’m a Professional Dance artiste, Visual illusionist, & Fitness enthusiast (to name a few).
HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT?
It discovered me. Dance (fell In love with it when I saw a movie “you got served”) Fitness emanated from (too many Chinese action movies that involved body training), Visual Illusion (combination of my interest in magic, tricks, editing & some super hero movies etc)
DO YOU HAVE A MENTOR?
Yes, Me in 5 years time.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
My entire life experience, what I see, I create. What I imagine, I find a way to bring to reality.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE TOOLS?
For dance & fitness; my body, as I’m the instrument used to create them. For visual illusion, a good graphics system, great internet connection, a whole lot of patience.
HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY?
Society’s nothing more than a system of normalized averages.. hence its been designed to isolate the creative, & normalize conforming. But lately, a shift is happening & I’m blessed to be one of the rebels enforcing such ideology.
IS THERE A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE BETWEEN CREATIVE?
There isn’t enough structures created to support creatives; hence most of us carve our own paths by ourselves, only for the country and society to take credit for when we do succeed, & also cast judgment if we fail.
MOST CLICHE THING YOU’VE COME ACROSS IN YOUR FIELD?
‘Intellectual masturbation’- this is when creatives find pleasure in talking about their past accomplishments & live on past glory, at every given opportunity without showing any sign to go for the next goal. They spend too much time in the “Trophy room” rather than going out to acquire new ones.
MOST REWARDING PART OF WHAT YOU DO?
Being able to see my ideas manifest in reality, through any means of my choosing, & sharing it with the rest of the world.
ONE THING YOU HOPE TO IMPROVE ON IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
To improve on myself to the best of my ability, & help others do same.
