I’m a 26 year old Cameroonian and I play with frequencies for a living. I also double as the DJ half of house music duo Chinjong X Chinjong.
HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT?
I have always been heavily influenced by my brother Lonie who got into music at a very young age. Since I couldn’t produce as well as he does, I picked DJing and I fell in love with it.?
DO YOU HAVE A MENTOR?
My brother Lonie has always been my biggest inspiration and mentor.

– Intimate House music sessions, – Typical NightClub vibe and I also have a thing for Pool parties.
HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY?
Our industry is tailored to meet the needs of people and those people make up the society so any shift in societal trends directly affects the industry.
DO YOU FEEL THERE’S A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE BETWEEN DJS?
Based on my experience, I’ll say yeah. Majority of the DJs I’ve worked with have been very supportive. I encounter some bad eggs every now and then but the DJ ecosystem is like a family.
MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING A DJ?
Getting paid lol. Seriously though, being able to introduce people to new music, seeing the look on their faces when a song comes on and takes over their bodies. Also being the pilot that takes the crowd on this journey from one vibe to another, that control is an amazing feeling.
WHAT’S THE MOST ANNOYING THING YOU COME ACROSS IN YOUR FIELD?
Drunk people constantly making requests, poorly installed sound systems at venues…. I could go on and on.
ONE THING YOU HOPE TO IMPROVE ON IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
If I can influence the way people see Djs and the DJing profession in general, I’ll feel fulfilled.
