Amarachi Audu

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF

I’m an Actor, Model, and entrepreneur. Graduated from the University of Lagos, an acting and directing major. I have a keen interest in the art so you could say I’m a creative in total!

HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT?

I’ve always loved acting, it’s been that one thing I’ve always wanted to do, and my mom saw that and at the earlier years of my life she started to support it. You could say she was my manager at that time. I starred in a few movies growing up. I started going for auditions a lot and just like that it brought me this point I’m at.

DO YOU HAVE A MENTOR?

My mother is number one. She inspires me so much and makes me want to be a better woman. In the acting industry, it’s RMD. He’s a force in my life and huge inspiration since childhood.

ANY PARTICULAR ROLE YOU ENJOY PLAYING?

I really enjoy playing the role of Runo on the Mr X Family show. It’s one of my fave characters from a script. Runo and Amara are very alike. We have same qualities, and I just resonate so much with that character.

ONE THING WE WOULDN’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?

I’m honestly not a morning person, like at all. I like to sleep in all day and be up all night.

HOW DOES THE SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY?

A lot of things aren’t put on screen because of the kind of society we come from. The gay people aren’t represented in Nigeria media because of the society we live. The movie industry is heavily influenced by the society because of our religious and social beliefs.

IS THERE A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE IN THE FILM INDUSTRY?

I think it could be better, not a lot of actors support other actors.

MOST REWARDING PART OF WHAT YOU DO?

Doing what I love and doing it effortlessly well. Being able to inspire people (especially young creatives)

MOST CLICHE THING YOU’VE COME ACROSS IN YOUR FIELD?

Characters never have time to eat breakfast that has been cooked for them Lol

ONE THING YOU HOPE TO IMPROVE ON IN YOUR INDUSTRY?

I would put every talent on in the acting industry. Lots of good actors can’t get roles because of nepotism involved in the industry.
