TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF
I’m a graduate of Fine and Applied art education, Obafemi Awolowo University. I am a Visual artist (painter) by Profession and I have been a full time studio artist for 5 years. Currently studying for a masters degree in Painting at East Tennessee state University.

HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT?
I discovered art at age seven while drawing comic characters with my classmates.

WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORKS?
Personal experiences, societal and cultural influences in Nigeria especially from the Yoruba Culture.
IN YOUR OWN WORDS DESCRIBE YOUR KINDA CONTENTS?
I create therapeutic art that connects the human consciousness to the subconscious mind. I mostly express this surrealistically, and recently through geometric and organic shapes.

PERSONALLY WHICH ASPECT IS DEMANDING; STARTING OR FINISHING A PROJECT?
Finishing aspect for me, it takes lots of energy, creativity, and concentration to put in the necessary elements and details to make an artwork successful.
HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY?
Nigerian society isn’t as receptive to art as the western world. Making a career out of art is extremely challenging especially for young and upcoming artists and given the situation of the Nigerian economy, I will say it is challenging for young and upcoming artists as there is a need to break out from the Nigerian market to make an honest living taking art as a profession.

DO YOU FEEL THERE’S A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE IN THE ART INDUSTRY?
Nigeria In recent times had encouraging support in the art scene but not enough.
WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING AN ARTIST?
Personally, the viewers feedback. Positive or negative, right or wrong, it makes me a better Artist.
ONE THING YOU HOPE TO IMPROVE ON IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
Taking art more as a profession than a hobby
