TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
I’m at the moment, an indie filmmaker. I’ve been making films professionally for about 5 years now. I think I can summarize myself as a free-thinking storyteller on a mission to make the world happy, one story at a time.

HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT?
When I had to write a screenplay for a short film in 2015. That was the first time I found out what it is to make a screenplay. Story structure, story world development and having my eye opened to these intricacies of creating whole universes in a story-world got me hooked and I knew I couldn’t not do this thing.
WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORKS?
Works of Quentin Tarantino

DESCRIBE YOUR CONTENTS?
Quite easily & simply told. I make films
A MEMORABLE PROJECT OR A CURRENT PROJECT?
The title is Gbese. It’s a short film about retribution & comeuppance explored in the gore/horror genre. It tells the tale of woes of a police officer who unwittingly became the victim of a serial killer in Lagos when he tries to obtain some egunje from the killer.

WHICH ASPECT IS DEMANDING; STARTING OR FINISHING A PROJECT?
I think finishing is daunting. Post production is usually a lonely period where it’s just me and the editor going at it and more often than not, the rest of the cast and crew move on to other projects and interests while I have to be on the edit alone.
HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY?
In a major way. Without the interest of society, then there’s not really an industry because films are made for the viewer. Also, the stories we tell as filmmakers are observed from society. If our society wasn’t this tragic, dramatic, dark comedy, we wouldn’t have all the juicy stories we ultimately tell.

IS THERE A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE IN THE FILM INDUSTRY?
Yes, but no. To keep it short & simple I’ll say there’s lots of support to be had depending on which “community” you find yourself in, in the industry.
MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING A FILMMAKER?
The end credits.
ONE THING YOU HOPE TO IMPROVE ON IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
The indigenous storytelling bar. I think we can aspire to so much more.
