TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
I’m Ryan from The Bay Area in California. I’ve been into music since I was a kid, starting with the drums when I was around five or six. I loved it so much that I ended up studying drum set and music production at Berklee College of Music. After that, I’ve been kind of bouncing around in the entertainment and tech world, working on audio production, music composition, and sound design. But through it all, I’ve never stopped playing the drums and making music.
HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT?
My parents are very musical oriented and introduced me to every kind of music when I was a kid.
TELL US BRIEFLY ABOUT YOUR INTEREST IN MAKING DRUM COVERS
I love connecting and sharing with people around the world. This allows me to do just that.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU AS A DRUMMER?
What really drives my passion as a drummer is pop music.
WHAT ARE YOUR CHALLENGES AS A CREATIVE
I’m quite busy, so it’s challenging finding the time to discover new music. That feeling of discovering a new artist or band is so inspiring.
WHAT’S ONE RANDOM KNOWLEDGE ABOUT YOU
Outside of being a drummer, I’m also a producer and song writer.
HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIETY EFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY
Right now, it feels like we’re in a new era of what it means to be a musician. Platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok have changed everything. The artist has so much more control over their music.
IS THERE A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE BETWEEN CREATIVES IN YOUR SPACE
Definitely. So much support has come from social media. I never thought I’d have a fan base in both Lagos and Bangkok. It’s amazing!
WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF WHAT I DO
I’d say it’s the positive feedback I get from people all over the world. It means a lot hearing from fans and knowing that my playing inspires others.
WHAT WOULD YOU DESCRIBE AS THE FUTURE OF YOUR PATH
Definitely more collaborations with other artists.
