TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
I’m a student at Leap of dance academy, a multi-skilled artist, and an ambitious fashion designer. I push through negativity and criticism and I believe in my ability to better myself. I refuse to place limitations on my potential. I can! I will! No excuses!!
HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT?
I discovered my craft at age 17, through my friend from church who introduced me to her cousin’s brother who is currently my dance teacher.
WHAT’S AFRO BALLET
Afro ballet is a mixture of African inspired rhythm, music, costume and most importantly the steps.
WHAT ARE YOUR CHALLENGES IN YOUR CRAFT
Funding; because my craft is very expensive and it needs a lot of money to achieve certain things.
WHAT QUALITIES ARE REQUIRED OF A BALLERINA
Self-motivation, determination, discipline, focus, flexibility, confidence, poise & most importantly passion. (If you love to dance and you possess some of these key traits, rest assured that you have what it takes to become a good dancer 🤍)
WHAT’S YOUR EXPERIENCE AS A TRAINER
It has been a very special and amazing experience, and yes we all have those days when you feel our lowest and happiest. But through these times we still give out our best.
WHAT’S A MEMORABLE MOMENT IN YOUR CAREER
One time, I got the opportunity to perform in a church. I was on the stage dancing and the pastor of the church took the microphone and said stop that music in the middle of my performance. That day, I wished for the ground to open and just swallow me. I was sad for some weeks but then I got back on my feet again.
HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR CRAFT
It hasn’t affected my craft in anyway but instead has caused me to learn to love and accept my craft.

It would be the opportunity to experience new things and also travel to places I never would have thought of.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE FUTURE
My goals involves growing, learning, taking on additional responsibilities and contributing as much value as I can.
