TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
I’m from Kampala, Uganda, born September 13th, 2002. I’m an artist who uses ballpoint pens to create masterpieces that tell stories about my life, community, and people around me. I capture emotions in every drawing and love talking to people to incorporate their experiences into my art.
HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT
I discovered my craft through a friend who drew out of boredom. I started copying him, then found pen drawing on social media. Curious, I tried it myself and consistency got me here.
WHAT INSPIRED YOUR STYLE OF USING BALLPOINT PEN
Curiosity inspired me. I wondered if it was possible to create art with a ballpoint pen and decided to try it myself.
WHICH OF YOUR PIECE CHALLENGED YOU THE MOST
The most challenging piece I made is a 2021 self-portrait titled “ARTISTIC FEELINGS.”
WHAT ARE YOUR CHALLENGES AS A CREATIVE
My challenges include the difficulty of finding local art collectors, expensive internet access, and the lack of my own camera, requiring studio visits where photographers may not meet my standards.
HOW DO YOU AVOID MISTAKES OR INCORPORATE THEM INTO YOUR ART
Mistakes are almost inevitable in month-long artworks. While small mistakes are often unnoticed by others, visible mistakes in hyper-real pen drawings can’t be fixed, so I strive to avoid them.

WHAT WAS A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE AS AN ARTIST
My most memorable experience was getting my first art collector outside Uganda, a special moment in my life.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY ASIDES YOUR CRAFT
I enjoy watching live football, reading books, walking in the evening, and visiting my family to talk in person.
WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF WHAT YOU DO
I love seeing my work celebrated and understood by others, with positive feedback from art lovers and social media followers, which motivates me to keep going.

HOW DO YOU MANAGE CREATIVE BLOCK
I take breaks from art, visit friends, especially fellow artists, and avoid forcing creativity. I plan my rest and return to work after a week, ensuring I don’t let it affect my mind.
