HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT

A couple years ago I was watching my sister apply her usual glamour make up for an event she was to attend and I couldn’t help but notice I could do the exact thing with more precision, being someone that has always been a fine arts/arts lover.

WHAT HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE BEEN AS A CREATIVE

It’s been challenging especially in the aspects of consistency and dealing with creator’s block, however the end results of a perfect job after getting past the aforementioned is beyond rewarding and consoling. You get to look at your work and say “Yeah I did that!”

WHAT ARE CORE CREATIVE QUALITIES TO HAVE AS A MAKE UP ARTIST

I would say patience to avoid disorientation. Then flexibility and the ability to visualize your processes as well as the results.

WHAT ARE YOUR CHALLENGES AS A CREATIVE

One of the challenges is the lack of props and equipment in the country for my craft. Also, respecting clients’ decisions to not have their photos taken (stopping me from showing off my work).

WHAT WAS A MEMORABLE EVENT AS A CREATIVE

I painted in front of a number of friends and acquaintances to debunk the idea of my work being photoshopped.

HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY

Every job and career face the challenges of society praising your work however still sticking to patronizing the “popular” or “known” names in the industry.

DO YOU FEEL THERE’S A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE WITHIN YOUR INDUSTRY

If you mean appreciation of the art and maybe publicizing it then yes there is really good support right there, however there’s only little to fair support in the parts that boost financial welfare of people in the line.
