I’m from Akwa Ibom state, graduate of Biochemistry and a single mother of two handsome boys. CEO of Dragon Squad, the first All-Female Security Bouncers in Africa amongst other things, a globally Certified Close Protection Officer.

HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR BRAND?

I had always loved anything military or uniformed organisation, so I joined the Red Cross, also became a Carnival Marshal. But after my marriage hit the rocks, I needed to get away so I worked as an admin officer in a Private Security Company. I resigned to start Dragon Squad four years ago.

WHAT DOES YOUR BRAND STAND FOR?

We are a well-trained & smart unique body size of women, a shift from the status quo, a jinx breaker in a male dominated industry and Excellent Service delivery, Technical & Tactical Capacity.

A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE ON A PROJECT?

Recent acceptance of Dragon Squad by Male Principals who didn’t get to sleep with us first to get any job but interacted with us intelligently to see the need to hire our services. The feedback were 99% Service Delivery.

YOUR CHALLENGES AS A BRAND?

We were seen as Event Decoration and seen as threats by the local boys but we have our ways of calming them down & winning them to our side at the end of the day.

HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY?

African culture like ours, women should be heard and not seen (stereotypically). We were underpriced and not taken seriously.

DO YOU FEEL THERE’S A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE FOR YOUR BRAND?

Yes! thanks to more professional trainings & certifications.

MOST CLICHE THING YOU EXPERIENCE IN YOUR FIELD?

We were seen as decor in an event. Male guests scamper to get our numbers so we could warm their beds after the event. Also lack of sincere support from family.

MOST REWARDING PART OF WHAT YOU DO?

The satisfaction from our clients & that my team delivered on point. Also being seen more as a Security Outfit in an event.

ONE THING YOU HOPE TO IMPROVE ON IN YOUR INDUSTRY?

Human Capacity building for my team to be able to compete globally.
