TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
My name is Anekwe Chikezie. I’m a graduate of the University of Lagos and I studied Actuarial sciences
HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR CRAFT
Started a few years back when I needed to do something creative and also make some money. I saw a friend using his camera and I thought to myself “I could totally do this too” so I started planning to buy a camera for myself. In the next 6 months, I got my first dslr and the journey begun..

DO YOU HAVE A MENTOR, IF SO WHO
Not really…
WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORKS
My work is inspired by music and colours and people.
IN YOUR OWN WORDS DESCRIBE YOUR KINDA CONTENTS
My works can vary, depending on the place I’m at in my life. I’m a portrait, event and fashion photographer but I’ve dabbled into products and fine art. And I’ll definitely try some more in the coming months. I guess I haven’t found a niche yet

PERSONALLY WHICH ASPECT IS DEMANDING; STARTING OR FINISHING A PROJECT
I think good planning of a project is the most important part. You have to be conscious about everything to the tiniest details and they all come together. Post production can be demanding too, or maybe I’m just the lazy one lol
HOW DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIETY AFFECTS YOUR INDUSTRY
I think the society is starting to appreciate photography as important art and it’s beautiful. I think Photography would evolve with technology like everything else and I’m here for it

DO YOU FEEL THERE’S A GOOD SUPPORT ATMOSPHERE BETWEEN PHOTOGRAPHERS
Definitely. It’s a healthy symbiotic relationship. They work hand in hand and We are grateful for fellow photographers.
WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF BEING A PHOTOGRAPHER
Getting paid. That one is major key lol. Also getting good reviews and referrals. That’s great too

ONE THING YOU HOPE TO IMPROVE ON IN YOUR INDUSTRY
I hope people get into the industry for the right reasons. What I’ll personally hope to improve on would be the value people place on the work done. Anything that just costs money is cheap. There needs to be Value.
